How Do I Stop Emotional Eating When Food Is My Only Comfort?

It’s Friday night. You’ve worked all week, said yes to everyone, and finally have a minute to yourself.

You order the pizza. You deserve something that feels good.

Then you’re promising yourself you’ll start again Monday.

I know that cycle. I spent years thinking I had a food problem. But the pizza wasn’t the problem. I needed something to make my life feel good for five fucking minutes.

In this episode of Get In, We’re Done Settling, I’m sharing how food became my reward, my comfort and the part of the day that belonged to me. And how I started changing that relationship without giving up every food I loved.

We’re talking about:

• Knowing what to do, but still reaching for food after an exhausting day.
• Learning early that treats meant reward, comfort and love.
• Recognizing when you’re craving connection, pleasure, freedom or time for yourself.
• How dancing helped me find something that was for me.
• Learning to notice an urge without automatically acting on it, while honouring genuine hunger.
• Losing over 100 pounds as part of my transformation and eating pizza after Jiu-Jitsu without needing it to escape my emotions.

If you keep asking, “Why do I keep doing this when I know better?” this episode offers a different place to start.

Next time that familiar urge shows up, ask yourself:

Am I hungry?
What am I feeling?
What do I actually need right now?

The goal is awareness. No shame. No punishment. No promise to stop eating tomorrow.

You don’t have to eliminate every food you love. You can change the role food plays in your life.

The goal was never to become a woman who doesn’t eat pizza. It was to become a woman who doesn’t need pizza to escape her life.
